We have completed the first quarter at AT&T Stadium, and the Minnesota Vikings have been on fire thus far, taking a 14-0 lead over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Vikings won the coin toss and deferred to the second half, giving the Cowboys the football first. Dallas moved the ball a little bit on their first drive, but stalled out and elected to attempt a 57-yard field goal, and Brett Maher pushed it well to the left, giving the Vikings the ball near midfield.

Minnesota wasted no time getting into Dallas territory on a screen pass to Dalvin Cook, and Kirk Cousins connected with Cook again for an even bigger catch-and-run on the next play. Add a face mask penalty on Dallas, and the Vikings were suddenly looking at first-and-goal from the Dallas 10-yard line. After Alexander Mattison took the ball to the 1-yard line, Kirk Cousins looked like he was trying to throw one away.

And then Kyle Rudolph did this:

Dan Bailey was good on the extra point, and the Vikings had a 7-0 lead a little less than six minutes into the game.

After forcing a Dallas punt, Minnesota took the ball and marched it right down the field again, getting themselves all the way down to a 3rd-and-goal from the Dallas 1-yard line. From there, Cousins and Rudolph connected again, and just like that it was 14-0 in favor of the good guys.

As we move to the second quarter of play, the Cowboys have the football, and have a 2nd-and-6 from their own 29-yard line.

You couldn’t ask for a much better start than this for the Vikings, as they lead the Cowboys after one quarter of play at Jerryworld. Come on in and join us for the second quarter!
