Veterans Day 2019 is Monday, Nov. 11.

It is an annual day to honor men and women who served in the U.S. military. Veterans Day, which celebrates the service of all military veterans, is sometimes confused with Memorial Day, the holiday in late May that honors those who died while serving in the military.

Here is everything you need to know about what’s open and what’s closed on Veterans Day 2019.

Is Veterans Day a federal holiday?

Veterans Day is a state and federal holiday. It’s the eighth of 10 federal holidays in 2019 with Thanksgiving and Christmas to follow. Veterans Day started in 1926 with its purpose being to remember all U.S. military veterans, past and present.

The only state that doesn’t observe Veterans Day is Wisconsin.

Is there mail delivery on Veterans Day 2019?

There will be no mail delivered on Veterans Day, but FedEx and UPS will still be making deliveries. Limited locations for the UPS Store will be open.

Is the post office open on Veterans Day 2019?

United States Postal Service offices will be closed, though self-service kiosks are still available in some locations for drop-offs.

Are the stock markets open on Veterans Day 2019?

Stock markets will remain open on Veterans Day. Although typically following a holiday schedule, the stock market makes an exception for Veterans Day and Columbus Day.

Are New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission locations open on Veterans Day 2019?

All Motor Vehicle Commission offices will be closed. Additionally, all New Jersey state offices and courts are closed for the holiday.

NJ Transit, PATH and SEPTA will operate on normal schedules. For NJ Transit, riders should use NJ Transit’s online trip planner to double-check arrival and departure times.

When is the Veterans Day Parade in New York City?

The Veterans Day Parade in New York will be held on Nov. 11 at noon. A traditional opening ceremony takes place first at 11 a.m. at Madison Square Park located at 24th St. & Fifth Ave.

The parade marches on Fifth Ave., from 26th to 46th Street.

Will restaurants and food stores be open on Veterans Day?

Most restaurants and food stores should be open, but some may have reduced hours for the holiday.

Most retailers and malls will be open for the holiday weekend. Here are some New Jersey mall hours on Veterans Day 2019:

When is the next federal holiday?

The next federal holiday is Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 28, with Christmas Day following on Dec. 25.
