  • Serena Williams just shared that Meghan Markle brought Archie to New York with her when she came to watch the US Open in September.
  • At the time, people mom-shamed Meghan for leaving Archie while she made the quick trip to NYC.

Please join me as we think back to the beginning of September, when Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at the US Open in New York to support her best friend Serena Williams. Even though Meghan was the sweetest cheerleader for Serena at the match, she still got majorly mom-shamed for leaving Archie, who was four months old at the time.

Meghan obviously chose to ignore the trolls, but earlier this week Serena revealed that Archie wasn't actually left behind in England—Meghan brought him with her to NYC! In an interview with Access Hollywood on Thursday, Serena gushed about what an amazing friend Meg is, sharing, "I just really think she's the strongest—literally the strongest—person I know, and the nicest, sweetest. She flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn't have done that." And idk if you picked up on that, but Serena said Meghan came to New York "with a newborn," aka baby Archie!

She continued, saying, "It goes to show you what an amazing person she is, and that's just one of the many things that she does for me. I call her, text her anytime crying, upset, and she's there. Doesn't matter what she's going through, she sets time away, and she's so amazing."

So what we've learned from this interview is two things: one, the mom-shamers can all GTFO, and two, Serena and Meghan are the cutest besties.
