TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- A giant balloon depicting President Donald Trump as a baby was stabbed and deflated during Saturday's protest in Tuscaloosa before the president's appearance at the LSU-Alabama game.

Protest organizer Nic Gulas said the incident occurred sometime after 1:30 p.m. CT. According to Birmingham's ABC 33/40, the slashing suspect screamed at protest organizers as he was arrested. A message left for the Tuscaloosa Police Department by The Montgomery Advertiser had not been returned on Saturday night.

Organizers of the protest worked to raise $4,000 to bring the "Trump Baby" balloon to Tuscaloosa's Monnish Park. The "Trump Baby" has been deployed at protests of the president around the world. The balloon fundraising drive raised more than $7,800. Organizers said they will donate the excess funds to the Equal Justice Initiative
