Did you send or receive some weird text messages overnight? You're not alone.

Multiple ABC15 viewers with different phones and service providers reached out to us saying they "sent" texts to some contacts late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Sprint confirmed to ABC15 Thursday morning that a "maintenance update occurred to part of the messaging platforms of multiple carriers in the U.S., including Sprint, which caused some customers to have older text messages resent to their devices."

The carrier says the issue was resolved "not long after it occurred."

We have also reached out to T-Mobile and Verizon for comment on the incident.

According to The Verge, many messages that were sent or received overnight appear to have been originally from around Valentine's Day of this year.
