Actress Shay Mitchell is known for quite a few notable roles, as well as her luxury luggage company and her social media presence. But what you may not know is that she’s also a new mom. And what did the Pretty Little Liars star name her baby? Let’s find out.

Shay Mitchell is a famous actress

You likely know Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars. She starred in the teen mystery-drama series from 2010-2017. Mitchell portrayed Emily Fields, who, along with her friends, finds herself the victim of a dangerous game run by the mysterious “A.”

Since the show came to a close, Mitchell has been busy with other acting ventures. She starred in the first season of You, which aired on Lifetime. Mitchell also appeared in films Mother’s Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace.

Mitchell’s first child was born this fall

This summer, Mitchell revealed that she was pregnant with her first child. Over the months that followed, she began to release YouTube videos on her channel, in a series titled Almost Ready. Mitchell revealed she was expecting a girl and documented her journey alongside her partner Matte Babel.

Fans began to wonder when Mitchell would give her birth. Her due date was sometime around late September or early October. However, Mitchell took her time in making her announcement, finally sharing that she gave birth “weeks ago” with an Instagram post featuring her holding her daughter’s hand.

A couple of weeks later, on Nov. 6, 2019, Mitchell shared additional information that many were curious about: The baby’s name. In an Instagram post, she shared the first photo of her daughter that revealed her face, stating that her name is Atlas Noa.

In an interview with Vogue released the same day, Mitchell said they came across the name when a friend mentioned it. “It’s just the perfect name; from that day, we knew it was going to be Atlas. People would ask us, ‘Do you have a name?’ But we were keeping it hidden. I’m sorry to everybody that I lied to!”

These ‘Pretty Little Liars’ stars have this in common

When Mitchell gave birth, her Pretty Little Liars co-stars were some of the first to congratulate her on social media. Among them is Troian Bellisario, who gave birth to her own daughter, Aurora, in 2018. Mitchell even posted a photo in her Instagram Story of meal-delivery service that Bellisario turned her onto.

“It’s funny because all my friends have had little girls,” said Mitchell. “When I found out that we were having ours, I was just super excited [because] we are a close group of families, and hopefully our daughters will be another little close group of friends as well, growing up.”

Mitchell filmed her new series ‘Dollface’ while pregnant

Mitchell is very busy with her new project (err, baby), but spent the early days of her pregnancy working on something else: A new TV series, called Dollface. The first season of the Hulu comedy arrives in full on Nov. 15, 2019.

Fortunately, she was able to hide her pregnancy on screen, due to her character’s wardrobe, which she describes as “kind of loose and free-flowing,” she told People back in July. “Once I saw the first fitting I thought, ‘Oh I’m good.’” You can see for yourself soon enough when the show premieres.
