The Golden State Warriors take on the San Antonio Spurs at 7:30 p.m. PT on NBC Sports Bay Area, and if you’re approaching it with morbid curiosity, you’re not alone.

We entered the season wondering how the Warriors would look without Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant. It wasn’t ideal, but it was fun to think of Steph Curry destroying the world on a nightly basis.

Now we begin the second part of the season, wondering how the Warriors will look without Curry. And it will almost surely be ugly. Very ugly.

Yet it’s also interesting. How will Jordan Poole and Eric Paschall develop in larger roles? How will Omari Spellman and Willie Cauley-Stein do? How will D’Angelo Russell fare as the team’s . . . uhh . . . /checks roster . . . only decent scorer? He’ll begin that test with the ultimate challenge: The Spurs Dejounte Murray, considered by many (including yours truly) to be the top defensive guard in the NBA.

This is Game 1 of at least 45 without Curry. So buckle up. It starts now.

We also get to see Steve Kerr coach against mentor Gregg Popovic. Draymond Green either giving up or digging deeper, all while defending LaMarcus Aldridge. Someone defending DeMar DeRozan.

If nothing else, it will be interesting. And if it gets out of hand and you find yourself turning off the TV and yelling obscenities?

Well, I’ve got something fun for you to put your eyes on:
