Joseph Allen auditioned for "America's Got Talent" to see how big a footprint he can leave on the world. His audition ended with Howie Mandel leaving a literal footprint on the golden buzzer.
The 21-year-old college student captivated the judges and audience with his positive energy and genuine enthusiasm, earning a round of applause before even starting his act.
When Simon Cowell asked why Allen decided to audition, he responded: "I see myself as someone who can make a major impact on the world and I want to see how much of a footprint I can leave on Earth before I leave."

Allen's performance of an original song was the cherry on top. He started crying while singing his final line, "After today the world’s gonna know my name," emotionally dropping to his knees as the crowd erupted into a standing ovation – judges included.
"Dreams come true on this stage and I think we're seeing your dream come true," new judge Gabrielle Union said. Fellow newcomer Julianne Hough wiped away tears.
"You got amazing energy, I got to tell you," Cowell said. "And I like your voice and you got a good tone. First impressions for me are everything. … I loved it."

Mandel complimented Allen's smile as he started to climb onto the judges' table. "You said you would leave a footprint, well I will give you the footprint you need," the veteran judge said before stomping on the golden buzzer.
Prior to taking the stage, Allen made a deal with host Terry Crews. "If I get the golden buzzer, you have to come out there and pick me up," Allen proposed.
Crews agreed and kept his word, hoisting Allen over his shoulders as golden confetti showered the stage. "I got to tell you man, you are heavy," Crews joked.
Allen described the moment as something "that I dreamed of for a long time," adding that the actual moment was "like nothing I have ever imagined before."
He pointed to his blended family in the audience, including his biological parents and stepparents. "I just want to thank all of you guys. You raised a dreamer," Allen said.
Auditions continue on "AGT" next Tuesday on NBC (8 EDT/PDT)
