Meghan King Edmonds is speaking out for the first time after her husband, Jim Edmonds, was accused of having an affair with their children’s nanny.
In a blog post titled “Broken” on her website, Meghan, 35, revealed their issues continued after Jim admitted to a previous cheating scandal with a woman dubbed the “Baseball madame” and their son Hart’s “irreversible brain damage” diagnosis.
In June, Jim, 49, admitted to sending lewd text messages and photos to Jennifer McFelia Villegas, so Meghan said their therapist advised them to be transparent about their text conversations moving forward.
She claims she did not receive support from his side of the family and instead they were “actively ignoring me or trying to further sabotage our marriage.”
“Family dynamics are complicated – ours more so than most – but I still expected more from them,” she wrote. “That hurt.”
During this time, the former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star claims Jim was also “drinking and partying with much younger women, including several of our babysitters.”
“I found this gallivanting inappropriate, immature, and downright odd,” Meghan said, adding that she dismissed his outings at times because one of Jim’s daughters from a previous marriage, 22-year-old Hayley Edmonds, was present.
On Friday, a fight between Meghan and Jim reportedly broke out because Meghan was upset Jim took nanny Carly Wilson to a hockey game. Police were called, but no arrests were made.
A Bravo fan account shared a video that appears to show Wilson, 22, and Jim at a game.
Meghan explained in her blog, “When I learned of a particular outing with a babysitter, this time, to a hockey game, that Jim repeatedly lied about, I asked him to include me on all future texts with this sitter but he said, ‘No.’ Another major red flag.”
She added, “I don’t know if Jim slept with our babysitter or whether they were just being exceedingly inappropriate by hanging out socially without either of them telling me (and Jim expressly lying to me about it).”
Jim has denied sleeping with Wilson. In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, he said the accusations were “negligent” and “so careless.”
Wilson has also denied any wrongdoing.
The former MLB star filed for divorce from his wife of five years on Friday after their argument. Meghan claims she found out about the filing from a reporter.
“I’ve now found out that my husband cheated on me (re: the sexting scandal) AND that he was divorcing me via the tabloids,” she wrote. “(Turn knife in heart a little more.)”
Meghan continued, “I love my husband and I’m devastated that our marriage is being broken up in the ugliest and messiest way. I am sad that members of Jim’s family are reveling in our demise. And I am saddest for the children.”
Meghan and Jim share daughter Aspen, 2, and 1-year-old twins Hart and Hayes.
The reality star said she is “broken,” “buried in despair,” but is looking to move forward to “set an example for my children and I will teach them to love and respect people while also knowing how to condone unethical or wrong behavior.”
She concluded, “I will facilitate healthy, consistent, and ongoing relationships with their father and with his family despite the hurt I feel from them because my children should not reap the karma of my personal situations.”
