In this Nov. 11, 2018, file photo, Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams is shown on the sideline during the second half of a game against Tampa Bay. Williams has been in a holdout since the start of training camp and has been a person of trade interest for the Browns.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Redskins are asking for big-name players such as Browns cornerback Denzel Ward as part of a trade package for left Trent Williams, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Ward, a 2018 Pro Bowler, was the No. 4 overall pick in 2018 and a Browns starting cornerback. Multiple reports also say the Redskins are seeking a first-round pick for the seven-time Pro Bowler.

Browns GM John Dorsey said during the bye week that he had multiple conversations with Redskins President Bruce Allen “but it takes two to tango.’’

Williams, 31, has at least four good years left in him, which would be enough to help take this star-studded Browns roster to the next level.

The Browns have fielded a number of calls today on players such as receiver Rashard Higgins, a league source said.

Higgins has missed most of the season with a sprained MCL, and has disagreed with coach Freddie Kitchens about his readiness to play. Higgins said he was healthy enough to play in San Francisco Oct. 7 but was inactive. Kitchens later said he watched him in practice and deemed him not ready.

Higgins was active against the Seahawks Oct. 13 but didn’t get in the game. He said a few days later that he was surprised not to take a snap.

But Kitchens indicated there’s more to the story.

“Hig has been back two weeks,’’ Kitchens said. “Contrary to popular belief, Higgins was not ready to play three weeks ago. Ask Higgins again about two weeks ago. He may have a different answer now. I’m not answering questions about playing time. We are playing who we think is giving us the best chance to win right now.”

Dorsey has already made two trades before the deadline, shipping guard/center Austin Corbett to the Rams for a 2021 fifth-round pick and Genard Avery to the Eagles for a 2021 fourth-round pick.

Avery, who finished third on the team with 4.5 sacks last season, was unhappy with being a healthy scratch for five games this season and asked to be traded.
