A middle-aged tourist is feared dead after falling off a cruise liner in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Norwegian Epic was due to dock in Majorca early Saturday — but the captain shocked passengers by announcing he was turning back after getting “good evidence” a passenger wearing pink pajamas had gone overboard, according to The Sun.

The ship then spent the day trawling the area where the 63-year-old Korean woman — who reportedly could not swim — was feared lost in the ocean.

Passengers stood at the ship’s rails searching the choppy sea for up to 12 hours as helicopters, planes and rescue boats joined the hunt. A distress warning was activated to all navigators in the area.

“The search has now ceased, and sadly, the guest has not been found,” a rep for Norwegian Cruise Line said Sunday.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the individual’s family during this difficult time,” the rep said, confirming that the missing woman was 63 and Korean.

The captain had told passengers that she could not swim, Dr. Kyjuan Brown told the Sun.

“Given the conditions, it’s unlikely she would have survived,” Brown said.

“Everyone felt for the family. It’s horrible to go on vacation and leave without a family member.”

Passengers said the cruise ship searched for at least 12 hours, until it grew too dark to continue.

“They did everything they could,” British tourist Angela Elliott, 54, told The Sun.

The lengthy search meant the cruise had to skip the Balearic Islands and instead move on to Barcelona.

“Staff eventually just turned the music on and told us to go get and get a drink and after four hours, we were on our way again. It was like it had almost been forgotten about,” another British tourist, Claire Murphy, told the UK paper.
