Geely and Volvo’s joint Lynk & Co brand said on Monday it will begin selling its first all-electric sports utility vehicle, the 02, in Europe at a time when incoming tariffs from the European Commission could raise the price of Chinese electric vehicle imports. The compact SUV starts from €35,495 ($38,800) with a driving range of 445 kilometers (277 miles) on a single charge and a battery pack that can be charged from 10% to 80% in 15 minutes at a 4.5C rate of more than 400 kilowatts. For now, the all-electric will be produced in China and shipped to Europe, making it subject to an extra duty of 18.8% on top of an existing tariff of 10%, a practice that would become definitive for five years starting November. The 02 will be sold in China later on under the name of Z20 with a price range of RMB 170,000 and 200,000 ($23,885-$28,100). [Bloomberg, Lynk & Co announcement, in Chinese]
