Marcus Rashford was forced to leave the pitch early during Manchester United's pre-season friendly victory over Real Betis after picking up an injury.
With Rasmus Hojlund and new signing Leny Yoro ruled out for lengthy spells after suffering blows in United's previous fixture with Arsenal, the Red Devils may be forced to deal with another setback after Rashford hobbled off the pitch at the Snapdragon Stadium on Wednesday night.
The forward led the line in the absence of Danish striker Hojlund, scoring a penalty to bring the score level to 1-1 early on. Amad Diallo and Casemiro later found the net as United delivered a 3-2 victory over the Spanish side.
Rashford's game soon turned sour as he dropped to the floor on the hour mark, forcing Erik ten Hag to make a substitution.
Hannibal Mejbri came on in his place, proving once again to be a reliable candidate up top after first appearing in place of Hojlund against Arsenal. Rashford's substitution was one of many made during the game, as the United boss made 11 changes in total throughout the fixture, though this one was clearly enforced.
Rashford, as well as Antony who was also withdrawn late on through injury, were seen limping through the mixed zone post-match, but without the need for crutches or protective boots.
The extent of Rashford's injury has not yet been revealed, but United will pray for a quick recovery for their forward as they look ahead to the 2024/25 campaign.
It was revealed overnight that French star Yoro will face three months on the sidelines, with his first competitive game for United expected to come in late October. Hojlund will spend six weeks recovering after suffering a hamstring blow.
The Red Devils have one pre-season fixture remaining, against Liverpool this weekend, before they return to England to face rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield.
