A new leak backs up previous claims that Apple is planning a slimmer iPhone 17, and that 120Hz ProMotion will no longer be a Pro model exclusive.
Previous rumors have said that the whole iPhone 17 range will boast an LTPO display, meaning that they will get the ProMotion screen that provides a faster, more responsive display. Those rumors did specifically say that the iPhone 17 Plus would be getting this screen, and the existence of the Plus model has been repeated.
Now leaker "Ice Universe" on Weibo, who has a good track record for iPhone display details, has released a series of specifications and prices for the iPhone 17 range. The leak backs up the use of LTPO screens, except for one model marked as being the iPhone SE 4, which will have the older LTPS displays.
The leak claims that the iPhone 17 will have a 6.27-inch LTPO screen, seemingly the same as the iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to have a 6.68-inch LTPO display.
- iPhone 17 $799
- iPhone 17 Pro $1,099
- iPhone 17 Pro Max $1,199
Leaker "Ice Universe" also says that there will be a further model, believed to be the rumored slimmer edition. That model is said to have a 6.65-inch LTPO display and cost from $1,299. This may be the "Ultra" model that has been rumored for several generations.
According to the leak, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have 12GB of RAM and a triple 48MP camera system. They will reportedly feature a 3nm A19 Pro chip, while the regular models will have an A19.
Another advantage of the regular iPhones getting a ProMotion screen is that it should mean they get an always-on display.
