In addition to the standard edition, there’s also a Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake Collector’s Edition available for preorder exclusively at Sqaure-Enix’s online store. The $200 box set includes:

  • The base game on your platform of choice
  • A collectible book-style game case
  • A set of 23 acrylic character figures
  • Two digital wallpapers
  • Adventurous Accessory Kit in-game item set
  • Trouble-Free Travel Kit preorder bonus

$200 is a pretty steep price for the package, but if you’re an extremely dedicated Dragon Quest fan, it might be worth grabbing before it sells out.

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake recreates the original 1988 version of the game with all-new visuals, reorchestrated music, and even some new gameplay tweaks, while maintaining the content of the original. The original Dragon Quest 3 was notable for having one of the first class-switching systems in a console RPG, and a non-linear, open-world structure. The game still holds up well today, and the HD-2D Remake will likely be the definitive way to experience it when it launches on November 14.

Along with confirming Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake’s release date, Square Enix also announced that Dragon Quest 1 and 2 are getting the HD-2D remake treatment and will launch in a single package in 2025.

The art style of all three remakes aligns with Square Enix's other gorgeous HD-2D games, including Live A Live, Octopath Traveler 2, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, and Triangle Strategy.
