When it comes to competing on the clay courts, Iga Świątek has once again proved why she is in a class of her own. After delivering some phenomenal performances on the Parisian clay, the Polish tennis star is now one win away from her third title at the French Open. With her on-court exploits, Iga is now inspiring many in her country, including her young male counterpart, Tomasz Berkieta, who recently opened up about the aftermath of training with the 4-time singles Grand Slam champion.

The 17-year-old Berkieta is also in Paris, as he is currently competing at the French Open Juniors. As they both are in the capital city of France, the Polish tennis prodigy was recently involved in a practice session with his compatriot and the current number 1 WTA player, Świątek. Speaking about training with the ‘Queen of Clay,’ Berkieta revealed how he finished the session over the basket. He said, “I recently trained with Iga Świątek – I finished it over the basket!”

With their recent on-court session, Świątek and Berkieta have made it clear that they have taken up the duties of keeping their country flag flying high in the racquet game. Following his compatriot’s footsteps, the 17-year-old player has also marked a brilliant campaign on the Parisian clay and he is now one match away from glory at the Roland Garros Juniors.

Both Iga Świątek and Tomasz Berkieta have reached the championship match of the French Open

Entering the junior Grand Slam event as an unseeded participant, Berkieta swept aside the likes of Izan Almazan Valiente, Hayden Jones, and Charlie Robertson in the initial rounds. He then defeated the Frenchman Moise Kouame before clinching a brilliant semifinal victory against the Italian Lorenzo Carboni. The Pole will now lock horns with the 5th-seeded American Kaylan Bigun in the title match.
