Sometimes, predictions made before a game can go horribly wrong. Charles Barkley’s guarantees on Inside the NBA almost always go poorly, and we always see pregame predictions go wrong in football. However, this poorly timed prediction on the MLB Network might take the cake. MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger predicted that Los Angeles Dodgers star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto would throw a no hitter, putting the star on ‘no-hitter’ watch ... before a pitch was even thrown against the Miami Marlins.
Well, you can just about guess how poorly that went.
That’s right, after guaranteeing a no-hitter, Yamamoto not only gave up a hit, but a home run on the first pitch. It’s that kind of incredible timing that makes this hilarious. Baseball is arguably the most unpredictable sport of the major four American sports, guaranteeing a no-hitter before a game even starts is wild, even if Yamamoto had come into the game on a heater.
Amsinger’s reaction to the homer was just as funny as the prediction that he made. He knew exactly what went down and his reaction says it all.
If you learn anything from this, it’s to never bet against Jazz Chisholm and the ... 10-28 Miami Marlins? Or, the new lesson to learn simply is not to bet on a no-hitter because then you put the bad energy into the universe.
