Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile's release is approaching on March 21, and ahead of that, Activision has announced more details on how to play the game using a controller. One of the options is to pick up a "snap-in" controller like the Backbone.
Activision has announced that Backbone is the "official controller partner" for Warzone Mobile. For anyone just catching up, the Backbone is a device that snaps around your phone to simulate a traditional controller. They come with USB-C and Lightning connectors to allow you to connect with an iPhone or Android device.
Anyone who subscribes to Backbone+ gets a variety of extras, including double XP tokens, and things like a calling card, emblem, and weapon charm for their loadout.
Additionally, Backbone is releasing a "Prestige Edition" controller that comes with special packaging and additional double XP tokens. This goes on sale March 13 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET through the Best Buy mobile app.
You don't need a Backbone to play Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, of course, as the game also supports touch controls and support for PlayStation and Xbox controllers. Be sure to read the full Call of Duty blog post to find out more about the game's control setup and customization options.
Warzone Mobile features shared progression across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone, so any leveling you do in one game applies across all systems. For battle royale, the Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps will be available at launch, while multiplayer features the maps Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard, among others.
