Last weekend, Paramount Network ran a Yellowstone marathon. Remember Yellowstone? Taylor Sheridan’s cultural phenomenon that’s been off the air for over… let me check my notes… a year? We miss those drama-loving cowboys. So what should you watch while you wait (and wait, and wait, and wait) for your favorite modern Western to return? We thought you’d never ask.
Team Decider’s been enjoying Donald Glover and Maya Erskine’s new Prime Video spy series Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the new season of drama on Netflix’s Love Is Blind, Oppenheimer on Peacock, and new episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Last Week Tonight on Max. So much TV, so little time, am I right?
When exactly does Yellowstone return with new episodes? Here’s everything you need to know.
Is Yellowstone on Paramount Network Tonight (2/25/24)?
Nope. Sorry, Paramount Network is airing a Bar Rescue marathon. Yellowstone isn’t airing tonight on Paramount Network or CBS.
When Does Yellowstone Return With New Episodes?
Back in November 2023, Paramount Network announced that Yellowstone will return for the second half of Season 5 in November 2024. The network also revealed that two new Yellowstone spinoffs — currently titled 1944 and 2024 — are in the works.
No plot details for 1944 or 2024 were announced, but Variety reports that 2024 is expected to begin airing following the conclusion of Yellowstone, with the show featuring “new cast members and locations with some crossover characters as well.” This is the series that would most likely include Matthew McConaughey, who’s been rumored to star in a Yellowstone spinoff since April 2023.
Where To Stream Yellowstone Season 5:
All five seasons of Yellowstone are available on Peacock Premium. You can also watch select Season 5 episodes on-demand via the Paramount Network website, fuboTV, Sling TV (the $6/month “Comedy Extra” add-on), Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Philo, or DIRECTV STREAM.
Finally, individual episodes and complete seasons of Yellowstone are available to purchase on Amazon.
Is Kevin Costner Leaving Yellowstone?
Production on the final episodes of the fifth and final season will reportedly begin in late spring 2024, but Costner’s level of involvement in the remaining installments is still unclear. The actor revealed in a September court trial that he was initially offered $24 million to do Seasons 5, 6, and 7 of Yellowstone but there were “issues with creative.”
Per Deadline, another source of contention centered around the star’s shooting schedule. Costner reportedly wanted more time to spend on his upcoming multi-part Western movie Horizon: An American Saga, a film in which he starred, directed, co-wrote, and produced.
The situation remains in flux — Costner said in September that he’ll “probably go to court” over his Yellowstone exit — so it’s safe to say that he almost certainly won’t be involved in future spinoffs.
