Football legend Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami team have arrived in the SAR ahead of their friendly match with a select team from the Hong Kong Premier League on Sunday.

The team's private jet carrying the Argentine superstar and his teammates including Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets touched down at Chek Lap Kok Airport on Friday afternoon.

"Welcome to Hong Kong, Inter Miami CF team," the host of the welcoming ceremony said.

There was, however, a hiccup at the ceremony.

The players were supposed to be greeted by local officials upon their arrival, but they left the stage seemingly prematurely after the media took pictures of them.
