FC Dallas have signed midfielder Patrickson Delgado on loan from Ecuadorian outfit Independiente del Valle for the 2024 campaign.

The Texan side will have the option to make Delgado's move permanent at the end of the campaign should he impress head coach Nico Estevez.

The 20-year-old joins after managing just six appearances for Independiente, as he signed for the South American side last summer after just one season with Ajax. Delgado didn't feature for the Dutch giants' first team, but he did register 24 appearances for Jong Ajax - the club's second team that plays in the Eerste Divisie.

Delgado has featured at the youth international level for the Ecuadorian U20 and U17 sides.

He joins a Dallas midfield group that already contains the likes of Paxton Pomykal, Liam Fraser, Sebastian Lletget and Real Sociedad icon Asier Illarramendi.

Dallas begin their 2024 MLS season at home at Toyota Stadium vs San Jose Earthquakes on February 24, looking to qualify for the postseason for the third consecutive season.
