Santa Claus may come Sunday night, but The Masters’ social media team went ahead and dropped their Christmas gift to the masses a little early.
During a 21-second video, the promo did point out something to golf fans.
“A welcome reminder that spring is just around the corner. #themasters,” the caption wrote.
That little Santa gnome with his Christmas sweater to open up the video was perfection. It sent chills all over the body. Then, panning to the Masters’ invitation was the cherry on top. A Christmas carol and listening to logs burn on an open fire put fans in the right mindset.
The first thought that came to mind was where and how much is that Santa gnome. It is iconic. Secondly, seeing that invitation allowed the meaning of the short clip to sink in.
To add to the allure of Augusta National and the Masters, they dropped an hour-long YouTube video that families can put on the big screen. They can enjoy the festive Butler Cabin as a backdrop for their holiday festivities.
Not only did it emphasize the first major being in a little over 100 days, but it also reminded fans that Masters invitations will be sent out to those who qualify soon.
The reactions to this 21-second video are all so relatable. Let’s check out some of the best.
This guy is just excited in general, and we must say — same Christmas Howell, same.
Most people took the comical route because, like most golf fans, they have never been to Augusta National. Its security is tighter than Fort Knox, and who they let in is highly selective.
Waiting for the email that says, you won the lottery. Been a long wait.

Twitter user Tim O’Reilly is from Augusta and can’t even get them to let him in the gates. We feel for you, Tim.
Born in Augusta, now 58. Still can't get in, even for a practice day.

Surprisingly, there was someone who disliked the video. How is it too soon for Masters promotional videos?
Most wanted to know if The Masters would gift them tickets, but the overall feel was excitement. It’s hard to believe that the 88th edition of this event will be here in just a few short months.
