Blue Ivy is growing up so fast!

The daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z turned 8 on Tuesday, and her grandfather Mathew Knowles took to Instagram to celebrate her big day with a cute tribute that included a never-before-seen photo of the rarely-seen Blue.

"Happy Birthday to my beautiful and oldest granddaughter Blue Ivy," he captioned the post. "Love, Papa G."

In the animated video that Knowles shared, Blue is shown standing in front of an orange wall wearing her backpack, an orange shirt and a skirt adorned with cherries.

"Awwww she's so beautiful," one fan wrote, while others called her a "cutie pie" and flooded the comments section with heart-eyes emojis and birthday wishes.

"Happy Birthday Princess," another Beyoncé fan wrote. "Beyhive has your back forever I promise."

That comment was likely alluding to the controversy that erupted after Megan Thee Stallion shared New Year's Eve photo booth snaps with Beyoncé and Blue Ivy on her Instagram page, prompting them to go viral almost immediately.

The adorable photos were picked apart in particular by two journalists, one of which said he felt "sorry for her" because she got "the jay z face genes," while the other replied that "she'll just get plastic surgery a la Kylie Jenner and we'll all have to pretend that she always looked that way."

After being called out online, both journalists were forced to apologize, calling it a "bad joke."

Blue Ivy is Beyoncé and Jay-Z's oldest child. They're also parents to 2-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
