As expected, the question doesn’t not appear to be if, but where.

Few expected 42-year-old Tom Brady to ride off into retirement after the New England Patriots’ playoff loss Saturday night, although speculation already is running rampant where the quarterback will play next season.

But first things first, Brady all but put to bed the notion that he’s hanging up his cleats, with an Instagram post Wednesday that reflected on the Patriots’ season.

“You dont always win. You can, however, learn from that failure, pick yourself up with great enthusiasm, and place yourself in the arena again,” Brady wrote. “And that’s right where you will find me. Because I know I still have more to prove.”

For the first time in his career, Brady is an unrestricted free agent.

He’s spent the last two decades with the Patriots, but that future appears at least somewhat in doubt. Teams like the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts have been mentioned as possible suitors should Brady move on.

Earlier this week, New England owner Robert Kraft told Peter King that it’s his “hope and prayer” that Brady either returns to the Patriots or retires. The latter appears out of the question, at least for now.
