£1 million in postgraduate scholarships available for 2020
At the University of Exeter Business School, we want to ensure studying for a Masters remains accessible to the brightest minds of the future, regardless of financial background.
We therefore have £1 million in postgraduate scholarships available. We are offering every student a prompt payment discount worth £1,000 each. These will be automatically awarded to students who confirm their place within the deposit deadline outlined in their offer letter.
Scholarships are not awarded in conjunction with other scholarships – in the event of you being eligible for more than one award the greater award will be given (this does not include the prompt payment discount which applies to all students).
Specific scholarships are as follows:
Merit-based Scholarships
20 x £5000 awards available for international applicants who achieve the equivalent of a UK upper second class Bachelor degree looking to study one of the following full-time Business School Masters programmes for 2020:
- MSc Management
- MSc Financial Analysis and Fund Management
- MSc Financial Technology (FinTech)
- MSc Business Analytics
- MSc Economics
- MSc Economics and Econometrics
- MSc Financial Economics
- MSc Behavioural Economics and Finance
This award will be automatically allocated to outstanding applicants applying for the first time for 2020 entry (deferred offer holders or applicants applying for deferred entry are not eligible).
Closing date: 30 June 2020
If you are offered a Postgraduate Global Excellence Scholarship you will receive an e-mail notification following receipt of your University offer. If successful, to accept the award you must make the University of Exeter offer your first choice by returning your deposit by the deadline identified in your offer letter.

20 x £7,500 awards available for international applicants who achieve the equivalent of a UK first class Bachelor degree or Masters at 60% looking to study one of the following full-time Business School Masters programmes for 2020:

- MSc Economics/Behavioural Economics/Econometrics,
- MSc Financial Economics,
- MSc Financial Technology,
- MSc Business Analytics,
- MSc Accounting and Tax,
- MSc Finance and Investment,
- MSc Finance and Marketing,
- MSc Management,
- MSc Marketing,
- MSc Human Resource Management,
- MSc International Tourism Management.
The scholarship is awarded as reduction in 2020 tuition fees, no cash alternative is available.
How to apply
There is no separate application required; scholarship recipients will be selected from eligible international fee offer holders on academic merit, based on the information you have supplied in your programme application. Awardees will be expected to demonstrate that they have achieved or are able to achieve the equivalent of a UK 1st class degree or Masters degree at 60%+

A limited number of full and partial tuition fee scholarships will be awarded to the most talented students who have had an application accepted to one of the Business School MSc programmes.
The scholarships are competitive and require you to have the equivalent of a 2:1 UK degree (or above) and an English language level of IELTS 7.0 with no section less than 6.0, or equivalent, if from a non-anglophone country. You will also need to submit an application form with a 1500 word essay on a topic dependent on your intended programme of study.

Five scholarships of £10,000 will be awarded to the most talented students from India who have had an application accepted to one of the Business School MSc programmes for September 2020.
The scholarships are competitive and require you to have the equivalent of a 2:1 UK degree (or above) and an English language level of IELTS 7.0 with no section less than 6.0, or equivalent, and submit an application form with a personal statement of up to 500 words outlining your academic interests, any prior relevant experience and reasons for choosing the University of Exeter and your programme of study.
Students must be graduates of a recognised university in, and be a resident of India. All scholarship awards are conditional on payment of the tuition fee deposit as specified in your offer letter and registration with the University of Exeter. You will need your Exeter student number to submit your application.
How to apply
Scholarships are offered on a rolling basis but all applications must have been received by the 31st May 2020. Applicants will be notified of the outcome within one calendar month and by no later than 30 June 2020.

Two full fees scholarships are available to students who have had an application accepted to one of the Business School MSc programmes for September 2020 entry. These will be awarded to an academically gifted candidate resident in the UK and continental Europe, who would not be able to study without this financial assistance.
This scholarship is funded by donations from a Business School alumnus.
The scholarship requires you to have an English language level of IELTS 7.0 with no section less than 6.0, or equivalent.

MRes / PhD Scholarships
We are delighted to offer up to 10 fully funded PhD scholarships and annual bursaries for our MRes to PhD programmes. Students will study either our MRes Economics (two years) or MRes Management (one year) programmes and subject to meeting our PhD entry criteria, will then move to a full-time PhD programme in either Accounting, Economics, Finance or Management.

We are delighted to offer up to four fully funded PhD scholarships and annual bursaries for our MRes to PhD programmes. Students will study either our MRes Economics (two years) or MRes Management (one year) programmes and subject to meeting our PhD entry criteria, will then move to a full-time PhD programme in either Accounting, Economics, Finance or Management.
Alongside the MRes and PhD programmes, you will also be employed as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in the Business School which will ensure that you graduate from the Business School as a highly skilled researcher and educator.
