(Newser) – The body of missing Texas mom Heidi Broussard has been identified, the AP reports. The 33-year-old's body, found more than 100 miles away from her hometown of Austin, was positively identified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science, which called her death a homicide by strangulation. Although police had a suspect in custody who has been charged with kidnapping and tampering with a corpse, by Friday evening they had not announced any murder charges. Broussard disappeared Dec. 12 along with her 1-month-old daughter after dropping her 6-year-old son off at school; a healthy baby that looks like the missing infant was found at the same Houston house where Broussard's body was found, but DNA test results are still confirming her identification. (The suspect in custody is a woman Broussard once called her "best friend.")
