DONALD Trump has vowed to 'speak' to the US diplomat's wife who fled the UK after allegedly killing a Brit teen in a hit-and-run to 'see what we can do' to arrange a meeting with the heartbroken family.

The pledge has come after Boris Johnson urged the US President to return Anna Sacoolas to Britain so she can "cooperate with police".

American Mrs Sacoolas, 42, allegedly smashed into 19-year-old Harry Dunn’s motorbike while driving her Volvo on the wrong side of the road on August 27.

Mr Trump reportedly told Mr Johnson that was aware of the case was "deeply saddened by what has happened".

Both leaders have agreed to work together to "find a way forward as soon as possible".

He later told reporters at the White House he would speak to the suspect "shortly" and "see what we can come up with to do some healing".

Mr Trump said: "So a young man was killed. The person that was driving the automobile has diplomatic immunity.

"We are going to speak to her very shortly and see if can do something where they meet.

"It was an accident. It was a terrible accident."
