Anyone wanting to buy a Tesla Cybertruck can go ahead and put a $100 refundable deposit down to reserve one of the massive vehicles right now. But, they will still have to wait at least two years before they can get behind the wheel, as Tesla has said the first Cybertrucks won’t be delivered until late 2021.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any Cybertrucks out on the road already.
Since Tesla debuted the Cybertruck on Nov. 21, there have been a handful of reports about, and videos posted of Cybertruck sightings on various roads and highways around Los Angeles. One of the most-recent postings came from a man named Andrew Villablanca, who used his phone to record a Cybertruck cruising through downtown L.A. and post what he witnessed to his Instagram account.
“Can’t believe I saw the Tesla Cybertruck in person the other night!” Villablanca posted, along with his video. “Did my best to shoot video but WOW. It’s absolutely massive in person and very quick but still polarizing in the looks department. #tesla #cybertruck #teslacybertruck.”
A Cybertruck was also seen in another part of L.A., where Twitter user Cody Simms spotted the vehicle looking like it could engulf the car in front of it with room to spare.

“Cybertruck in the wild near LAX,” Simms tweeted.
And there was also video that CNBC posted that purportedly showed a Cybertruck barreling down L.A.’s notorious traffic trap, Interstate 405.
Still, none of those videos or photos were able to show just who was driving the Cybertruck. It is possible that Tesla is doing road tests of the vehicle. However, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume that Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk was doing his version of cruising around in his company’s latest electric toy.
In fact, Musk himself has been seen driving the Cybertruck, and showing off the futuristic road beast, as reported by TMZ.
Musk apparently wanted some expensive Japanese food the other night, because TMZ showed video of him showing off the Cybertruck to actor Ed Norton in the parking lot of the Nobu restaurant in Malibu over weekend. Musk appeared to have a Cybertruckload of guests in the vehicle with him. And before long, videos of Musk and the Cybertruck popped up all over Twitter.

But, if he was trying to be cool, Musk managed a slight fail in the process, as it was reported that he ran over a parking pylon while maneuvering the Cybertruck through Nobu’s parking lot.
With that, it might not have been a totally perfect night for Musk. But, at least the Cybertruck’s windows stayed intact.
