So much for sharing those Thanksgiving photos.

Facebook and Instagram seemed to experience major outages on Thursday, affecting thousands of users worldwide.

Reports of Facebook going down shot up just before 9 a.m., with more than 9,000 reports by 10 a.m., according to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

The disruptions affected most of the East and West coasts, as well as Texas, Chicago and Florida. Outages were also reported in Mexico and across South America and Europe.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.

Instagram was worse, with more than 20,000 problems being reported at 10 a.m., according to Downdetector.com.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps, including Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” Instagram tweeted at 10:40 a.m.

Folks took to Twitter to gripe — and joke — about the disruption.

“WTH…….Why is Facebook and Instagram not working, like it’s Thanksgiving people…..,” tweeted @LanceD0515.

@ISABE77ABE77A tweeted that “facebook and instagram are down because everyone in the united states is home for thanksgiving, and they’re all trying to go online while waiting until thanksgiving dinner is served,”

“Facebook and Instagram are down… Where is everyone going to post their Thanksgiving food pictures now,” joked @RedeemedMatthew.

Added @SouthernTroubIe: “How else we gone see who family cant cook???”

@BIGBILLIOCEAN summed up their feelings with: “I would love to see Facebook and Instagram never come back.”
