A storm will produce strong winds Wednesday and Wednesday night.  This storm will also have heavy amounts of precipitation.  The wintry precipitation will mostly hit the western two-thirds of the Upper Peninsula.  Here's a look at what you can expect and when, as the storm moves through.

Radar forecast 1 a.m. Wednesday

The storm will start to send mostly rain into Michigan at 1 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

Radar forecast 1 p.m. Wednesday

The storm will be in full gear by 1 p.m. Wednesday.  It still looks like rain for Lower Michigan, while much of the U.P. will be into heavy snow.

Radar forecast 7 p.m. Wednesday

As the storm center moves east, the colder air will move in from the Upper Peninsula.  Rain will change over to snow in far northern Lower, while southern Lower will still have rain.

Radar forecast 7 a.m. Thanksgiving

The storm will be over by early morning on Thanksgiving.

Temperatures at 4 p.m. Wednesday

You can see why most of the precipitation is going to be wet and not white.  Temperatures will be well into the forties for just about all of Lower Michigan Wednesday afternoon.

Total snowfall forecast

The Upper Peninsula could have many areas with over six inches of snow.  Far northern Lower will just have an inch or so of snowfall.

Total rainfall for entire storm

This is going to be a moisture laden storm.  The northern half of Lower Michigan and the U.P. will have more than one inch of liquid, whether it's rain or melted snow.  Southern Lower will still have quite a bit of rain with one-half to one inch of rainfall.

Wind gust forecast 4 p.m. Wednesday

Strong winds will be circulating around the storm center, with gusts near 50 mph hitting the southwest part of Lower Michigan.
