After an impeachment-focused cold open on "Saturday Night Live," five-time host Will Ferrell gave an introductory monologue as he joined the show's Five-Timers Club.

But it wasn't a normal monologue. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Tracy Morgan joined in on the performance.

Ferrell began discussing how excited he was to be hosting "SNL" again. He had the audience raise the roof at one point.

"I cherished every moment I was here," Ferrell said, referring to his seven years as a cast member. Those times were really some of the best, he explained before pausing.

"I’m sorry, one second, excuse me, but you look a lot like Ryan Reynolds," he said to an audience member, who was, in fact Ryan Reynolds.

“Yeah, I get that a lot," Reynolds responded.

The dialogue continued with Ferrell slowly escalating to a Buddy the Elf-like level of excitement.

"Is it you?" Ferrell asked.

“Yes, it’s me,” Reynolds replied.

"Oh, oh wow OK, cool, welcome to the show." Ferrell said.

“Thank you, I'm a big fan,” Reynolds said.

"A big fan of me? Oh, OK. Fine. I didn't know you were gonna be here, OK," Ferrell said before trying to return to the introduction. He giggled. "I can't believe you're here."

Eventually, Reynolds asked Ferrell to pretend he wasn't in the audience. "Will, you gotta stop looking at me, okay?"

Ferrell appeared to struggle through the remainder of the monologue and began to impersonate Tracy Morgan. "Whenever I get nervous, I go into Tracy Morgan, in fact I delivered my wedding vows in this voice."

And then, after a few minutes, Morgan appeared. "This is Will Ferrell, he can do what he wants to do. I suckled from his comedy bosom, like a young Luke Skywalker, it filled me with strength," Morgan said.

Ferrell thanked Morgan, he felt much better he said.

Though, Morgan did add, Ferrell should probably not impersonate him again.

Reynolds reappeared later, clad in a collared shirt, puffy vest and sunglasses, as a guy who "knows the owner" on "Weekend Update," to deliver some Thanksgiving dating tips with "a guy who just bought a boat," cast member Alex Moffat.
