A second suspect has been arrested in relation to the disappearance Aniah Blanchard, Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes confirmed.
Antwain “Squirmy” Fisher, of Montgomery, was arrested Friday night by Auburn police and was booked into Lee County Jail on Saturday morning. According to the jail website, 35-year-old Fisher has been charged with first-degree kidnapping. Details about Fisher’s arrests have not been released.
Blanchard, a 19-year-old college student, has been missing since Oct. 23. She was last seen at Chevron store on South College Street in Auburn. Blood evidence was discovered on the passenger side of Blanchard’s car, which was recovered from an apartment complex in Montgomery on Oct. 26. The evidence was submitted to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and confirmed to be that of Blanchard.
Ibraheem Yazeed, 29, was the first to be arrested in the case earlier this month and was charged with kidnapping. During a preliminary hearing in Lee County District Court on Wednesday, an Auburn police officer testified that a witness saw Yazeed force Blanchard into her car against her will.
