The College Football Playoff race is hitting the home stretch as the month of November comes to a close, and while the Week 13 slate didn't come across as what one would call appetizing on paper, there ended up being plenty of games to keep an eye on as the national championship picture continues to clear up. The early game between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 8 Penn State was a solid 28-17 win for the Buckeyes as they clinched the Big Ten East and continue their march toward the final four. No. 5 Alabama began its journey without Tua Tagovailoa under center in a tune-up game one week prior to its pivotal Iron Bowl showdown with Auburn, taking care of Western Carolina 66-3. Meanwhile, No. 4 Georgia and No. 1 LSU secured their matchup in the SEC Championship Game with wins over Texas A&M and Arkansas, respectively.
It was the afternoon and evening slate that got more interesting, however. No. 9 Oklahoma needed to fend off a furious rally from TCU to advance to the Big 12 Championship Game, where the Sooners will have a rematch with No. 14 Baylor. Oklahoma has hardly put together a complete game over the past month, but it continues to survive and advance despite numerous turnovers from quarterback Jalen Hurts. And the big shakeup of the day came out west as Arizona State upset No. 6 Oregon. Does that put a damper on the Pac-12's playoff hopes? Utah may end up being the conference's only hope at getting in now.
There was a lot to cover with those games and everything in between. CBS Sports was here every step of the way to update you with the latest scores, highlights and storylines throughout the day. All times Eastern
By the way, the Big 12 Championship Game is set and it's a rematch between Oklahoma and Baylor.
Big day, for better and worse, for playoff hopefuls. Arizona State upsets Oregon 31-28 and Justin Herbert has his worst game of the season -- maybe of his career. Meanwhile, Oklahoma holds off a rally from TCU to win 28-24. Sooners gifted a pretty sweet first down spot to end the game. Sooners haven't been sharp lately and Jalen Hurts has turned the ball over a lot, but they survive and advance again.
FIU pulls off the upset over Miami 30-24. What a terrible loss for the Hurricanes. Probably the worst in decades and FIU, with former Canes coach Butch Davis, gets bowl eligible in the stadium where the old Miami stadium once stood. Lot of layers to this one.
Woah, Jalen Hurts throws a pick-six near the goal line and it's a 14-point swing as TCU takes it for a pick-six. Now 28-24 in the fourth quarter. Gary Patterson's team is hanging around. Oklahoma can use all the help it can get too with Oregon struggling against Arizona State.
The Sun Devils could be closing in on a huge upset. Frank Darby catches his second touchdown of the night on a dime from Jayden Daniels.
Things are looking brutal for Miami. Florida International currently leads 23-3 in the fourth quarter.
Jauan Jennings has been at Tennessee for 7 years and this is his crowning achievement. What a play.
An upset could be potentially brewing. No. 6 Oregon is currently trailing Arizona State 10-7 at the half. The Sun Devils have 256 yards of total offense and found the end zone courtesy of a 57-yard touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels to Frank Darby.
Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb is back in the lineup after missing the Baylor game and has already found the end zone. Sooners lead TCU 21-0 in the second quarter.
LSU's Joe Burrow continues to build his Heisman resume as the Tigers currently lead Arkansas 21-6 in the second quarter. Burrow has completed 15-of-17 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown and LSU also has two touchdowns via the rushing attack. The Tigers are also outgaining the Razorbacks 229-91 so far.
A truly special moment for injured Youngstown State quarterback Nathan Mays to end his collegiate career.
No. 14 Baylor bounces back from their colossal collapse against Oklahoma with a 24-10 over Texas. Quarterback Charlie Brewer recorded two of the team's touchdown (one passing and one rushing) and the Bears outscored the Longhorns 17-7 in the second half.
No. 4 Georgia outlast Texas A&M despite accumulating just 260 yards of total offense. Jake Fromm completed just 11-of-23 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. However, the Aggies struggled mightily on the ground and registered -1 rushing yards on the night to offset the Bulldogs offensive struggles.
Navy has No. 25 SMU on the ropes in the fourth quarter.
Michigan comes away with a 39-14 win over Indiana to move to 9-2 on the season. Shea Patterson was extremely efficient with 366 passing yards and five touchdowns while Nico Collins also hauled in five passes for 165 and three touchdowns. The Wolverines now focus their attention towards Ohio State.
Quintez Cephus put Wisconsin up 38-17 on Purdue with this grab.
