New England Patriots quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham (4) and Tom Brady run onto the field before an NFL game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 8, 2019, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

After Friday’s practice in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, the New England Patriots issued their final injury report for the week -- and quarterback Tom Brady was on it.

The Patriots listed Brady as questionable for Sunday's game after he took part in practice on a limited basis because of an injury to his right elbow.

Does that mean rookie Jarrett Stidham could make his first NFL start in a showdown of division leaders?

A fourth-round draft choice from Auburn in April, Stidham has mopped up for Brady in three games this season.

Brady had not appeared on the injury report until Friday.

A questionable designation means it is uncertain if the player will play in the game.

Questionable is the lightest of the three NFL injury-report designations. A doubtful designation means it is unlikely the player will play in the game, and out, of course, means the player will not play.

A limited designated for practice work means the player took less than 100 percent of his normal reps or workload that day.

New England ended the week with 12 players on its injury report, and all of them are listed as questionable.

Brady has not missed a start because of injury since the 2008 season, when he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the opening game. Brady missed the first four games of the 2016 season while serving the NFL suspension that resulted from the Deflategate investigation.

Stidham has played 15 snaps in 2019 after earning the backup QB job over veteran Brian Hoyer in the preseason. He has completed 2-of-4 passes for 14 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

The Cowboys and Patriots kick off at 3:25 p.m. CST Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. FOX TV affiliates in Alabama are scheduled to broadcast the game.

New England leads the AFC East with a 9-1 record. Dallas leads the NFC East with a 6-4 record.
