Now Playing: I Didn't Care about Concord Until I Played It

Providing early access to people who pay more is a common trend in video games today, and Concord is just the latest game to offer it.

Concord early access unlock time

Early access for Concord begins August 20 at 10 AM PT, which works out to 1 PM in New York, 2 PM in Sao Paulo, 6 PM in London, and 7 PM in Berlin. People on the other side of the world in places like Tokyo (2 AM), Seoul (2 AM), and Sydney (3 AM) will have to wake up early (or stay up late) to jump in as soon as possible.

Post-launch roadmap

Firewalk also outlined what's coming to Concord after launch, and it sounds like there is a lot on the way. Season 1: The Tempest releases in October, and it introduces a new character, new map, new variants, and additional cosmetics and rewards. It also introduces a new season of weekly cinematic vignettes that will further flesh out the narrative.

Season 1 also adds an in-game store that players can purchases cosmetic customization items from. Firewalk said these are "solely cosmetic" and optional, further noting that they have "no gameplay impact." These are also separate from the "hundreds" of cosmetic items that players can earn through standard gameplay progression.

As announced previously, Concord has no battle pass or paid expansions. Firewalk reiterated that stance today, and said, "We take your investment into the game seriously and want to ensure that we bring all players along for the journey."

Season 2 for Concord is scheduled to release in January 2025, with more seasons to come thereafter.
