Two iconic horror flicks are getting new retro-inspired video games just in time for the spooky season. The RetroRealms Double Feature will let you explore bloody 16-bit worlds as Michael Myers and Ash Williams, with preorders now open ahead of its October 18 release for PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC. It's a collaboration between Boss Team Games and WayForward, the latter of which is responsible for the popular Shantae series. RetroRealms Double Feature: Halloween and Ash vs. Evil Dead even has a pretty awesome special edition featuring a Michael Myers plush, trading cards, a VHS-style box, and more.

Both games in the bundle feature gorgeous 16-bit graphics and look hyper-violent from the reveal trailer--and if you reserve a copy ahead of launch, you'll get some nice preorder bonuses.

RetroRealms Double Feature Preorder Bonus

Preordering RetroRealms Double Feature will get you two DLC characters. For Halloween, you'll get to play as Laurie Strode. For Ash vs. Evil Dead, you'll get to play as Kelly Maxwell. It's unclear if they'll have different movesets than Michael Myers and Ash, but no doubt it's a nice free preorder bonus.

The RetroRealms Double Feature Special Edition

RetroRealms Double Feature Special Edition is one of the coolest collector's editions we've seen this year. For $80, you get physical copies of both games, a Halloween VHS-style box, an eight-inch Michael Myers plush figure, eight RetroRealms trading cards, a Halloween poster, and the above preorder bonus DLC. That's a ton of additional content for an extra $30, making this a great option for fans of either franchise. Preorders are available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.

Preorder RetroRealms Double Feature Standard Edition

$50

If you just want the two games and no collectible goodies, the standard edition is your cheapest option. It gets you the two games and any eligible preorder bonuses. Picking up both titles is a good decision, as your characters can move between games in an attempt to unlock secret abilities and bonus content. There's also an online leaderboard so you can compare your performance to other players around the world. Preorders are available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.

The RetroRealms Double Feature looks to offer two fast-paced 2D platformers. As you scroll your way through each level, there will be unlockables to collect, secrets to discover, and a handful of bosses to overcome. A $100 collector's edition bundle is also expected to go live soon, offering up a few more collectibles than the special edition. Boss Team Games is working on another, bigger budget game in the Halloween franchise. John Carpenter, the legendary director and composer of the original film, is collaborating on the project.
