Antonio Brown is a man of multiple controversies. From his days in the NFL to his antics as a rapper and a football team owner, AB has always stood out. Whether it had been inappropriate comments about a teammate’s ex-wife or several legal charges, the rapper has made the news for various different issues.  One of the more recent issues that have come to light involves Brown’s team, the Albany Empire. Brown mentioned that while he had spoken about lacing up, it wasn’t that simple. Additionally, he also said, “There are certain procedures, you gotta follow to play football, AJ. I can’t just roll off the couch and say I can be productive and show him that I can make a difference.” However, AB mentioned that he is in the process of making a move to play and even has a jersey with his iconic number, 84 in the works. Meanwhile, as he faked out his return to the field with the Empire, they’ve gone on to lose their 5th game in a row. Interestingly, these are not the only talks about Brown’s return to football.

Is Brown returning to the NFL?

The league has not been graced with Brown’s presence in more than a year. The last time AB made an appearance on the field was when he played alongside Brady in Tampa Bay. Interestingly, more than a year after his exit, the WR’s agent has spoken up about the re-ignited interest NFL teams have been showing in the WR. As per his agent, JR Rickert, at least seven different teams have shown interest in Brown for the upcoming season. One of the only problems for most teams has been the kind of reputation Brown has had in the past. Amidst all of this, Brown himself has gone on to show an interest on returning to the NFL. He even tweeted an edit with him flexing in a Ravens’ jersey on Twitter.

All in all, Brown as well as his agent seem hopeful about a return to the NFL. It only remains to be seen if NFL teams are going to be able to set aside the problems AB has off the field and bring him as a wide receiver for them.
