A fourth person has died from an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease linked to a hot tub display at a North Carolina fair.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday that another victim had died, but declined to provide any identifying information, including name, age, gender or race.

More than 140 cases of Legionnaires’ have been confirmed as of Friday, officials said.

The outbreak has been linked back to the Mountain State Fair, held Sept. 6-15 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center in Fletcher, and a display of hot tubs at the Davis Event Center.

A separate, unrelated case of Legionnaires’ has been traced to the Asheville Quilt Show at the WNC Agricultural Center, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services said last week.

Symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease include coughing, shortness of breath, fever, muscle aches, headaches, diarrhea, nausea and confusion, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
