Do you ever have one of those days where you definitely want to keep the plans you made with somebody to do something, but then—dang it all—something totally unexpected (and 100 percent completely real) comes up that prevents you from doing it? It’s just so flippin’ frustrating! Anyway, this isn’t related at all, but Bradley Cooper says he would definitely do a fourth Hangover movie “in an instant,” except—aw man, wouldn’t you know it?—he doesn’t think series director Todd Phillips would want to do it. Darn it! Cooper’s probably so bummed that he won’t get to make another Hangover movie instead of working on things like Maestro and his Oscar-winning A Star Is Born remake. Poor guy!

Cooper dropped this reveal while on The New Yorker Radio Hour (via Deadline), saying that he “probably” would do another Hangover “in an instant,” saying, “Just because I love Todd, I love Zach, I love Ed so much” (referring to Phillips and co-stars Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms, and also he probably just forgot to mention Justin Bartha). Sadly, Cooper said, “I don’t think Todd is ever going to do that.”
These days, Todd Phillips is wrapped up in making Joker movies (the first one of those also won some Oscars, lest we forget), so maybe Cooper thinks he has moved on to making different kids of movies and has outgrown the Hangover series. But still, it definitely seems like Cooper is jumping to embrace the first excuse he can find in order to get out of actually having to make more Hangover movies. “It’s not me, guys! I want to do it, but Todd Phillips won’t.”
Bradley, it’s fine. It’s okay if you don’t really want to make another Hangover movie. Nobody’s going to force you and you don’t need to lie about wanting to do it.
